Happy Holidays everybody! As always, I hope this letter finds all of you and your's in good health and good spirits. 2003 was an interesting year, with some turmoil at work and the birth of a new business venture here in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The College for Financial Planning went through some convulsions, and my job changed from marketing director to manager of professional development courses. I'm not sure what that means, and I sure felt more comfortable in marketing, but at least I still have a job. The new position also involves a re-design of our web site, so that's the 4th time I've been involved with that activity. Oh well. School sort of stalled this year. With all the upheaval at work, I was a little concerned that I might stop seeing a paycheck, so I stopped paying tuition, and went into an extended break to see what happened. Now that things have calmed somewhat, I'm back in school January 1. My good friend Dan Hayes and started a real estate investment company called DEETOO (get it?) back in September. So far we've bought one rental property in Dillon, CO (Keystone ski resort), and plan to buy one more per year for as long as we can. If you're interested in investing, let me know. We're working on some models that could allow more fingers in the pie. Carmen remains the only woman in my life and life, therefore, remains simple and trouble-free. She still has a much more active social life than I do, with a line of volunteers to keep her whenever I leave town. Speaking of leaving town, this past October found me in Puerto Rico seeing the sites which included my first Goddaughter, Stephanie who is in the Navy down there. I have posted some photos from the trip at the link in the animation, or below. It sure was great to see you Steph, and to meet your fiance, Ryan too! Happy holidays everyone, have a great 2004, and get your butt out to Colorado soon! Love, Dan |
